Fécamp celebrates the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings

Fécamp under Occupation: A Historical Plunge into the Heart of the Second World War.

May 5, 3pm to midnight.

As part of the 80th anniversary commemorations of D-Day and the Liberation, Fécamp invites visitors to relive history with the captivating event "Fécamp under Occupation". Scheduled for Sunday, May 5, from 3:00 pm to midnight, this theatrical immersion transports participants back in time to the Second World War. Based on authentic testimonials from Fécamp residents, it presents great anecdotes and little-known stories, staged by two actors in period costumes.

Tour 39-45: Discovering the remains of the Atlantic Wall in Fécamp

From June 8 to September 1, immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Fécamp's Atlantic Wall with the 39-45 tour. Every Wednesday and Saturday at 3pm, discover the impressive remains of the German fortifications built during the Second World War.

This guided tour takes you through Fécamp's coastal landscapes, where you'll discover the Cap Fagnet blockhouses, silent witnesses to the German occupation. These imposing structures reveal the strategic importance of the region during the conflict.

The visit continues with the discovery of a "sanitary shelter" dug into the cliff, offering a striking insight into the daily life of soldiers during the war.

Bring walking shoes and warm clothing for this 2h30 excursion, which will plunge you into the heart of Fécamp's military history.

Le Dormeur du Rivage" exhibition: Perspectives on D-Day

Plunge into the heart of history with the "Le Dormeur du Rivage" exhibition, presented by the Département de la Seine-Maritime from July 6 to August 25, 2024. through 44 captivating photographs by Jean-Christophe Ballot and poignant texts by Laurence Meiffret, discover the moving account of the soldiers at D-Day. Available free of charge in 12 communes, this exhibition offers a unique immersion in the past, enriched by meetings with the photographer and a program of reading activities.

Fécamp Libéré: A Commemorative Exhibition

Immerse yourself in history with "Fécamp Libéré", a commemorative exhibition running from July 8 to September 2. Retrace the poignant moments of Fécamp's liberation in 1944 through archives and photographs. Free admission.

Commemorative evening: The Liberation of Fécamp

On September 2, from 7pm to midnight, come and relive the jubilation and turmoil of the liberation of Fécamp. Manuel Martin of the Archives-Heritage Department presents a retrospective of the event, with archive documents and photographs from the Bergoin collection. Free entertainment.
