The Linen Cycle Route

Normandy is France's leading flax-growing region. Flax is a plant that requires a very special climate and care, which our producers have mastered since ancient times. So it's an integral part of our heritage, and you can discover it for yourself during your stay in Normandy.

If you're looking for a quiet way to cycle at your own pace, we suggest the Véloroute du Lin (flax cycle route). There are 80 km of routes along an old railway line through the Pays de Caux. It's a continuous greenway, so there are no vehicles to get in the way, and it's totally dedicated to you. It's an exceptional route, with the added advantage of taking you through our wonderful flax fields.

So whether you're a beginner or a cyclist with children, this is exactly the route you need to recharge your batteries for a day out.

The Vélomaritime (EureVélo4)

This 1,500km route takes in both fantastic views and some of Normandy's top tourist attractions. It's a great adventure along the French coast, from Brittany to the Belgian border. Brittany, Mont-Saint-Michel, Honfleur and Etretat: the Vélomaritime starts in Roscoff and takes you all the way to Dunkirk.

Not only is it a route between land and sea, but it's also a route that's very popular with the more sporty types for the challenge it brings. So if you like a challenge, this route is another way of discovering Normandy in a more dynamic way. You're free to pedal wherever you like - there's nothing to get bored of on this cycle route!
